Crawdad Technologies, LLC provides software and services to analysts and research professionals who need to transform unstructured text into insight. Crawdad operates from Chandler, Arizona.

 

In 2008, Crawdad operated Wonkosphere.com, a free web service that tracked over 1200 political blogs and web sites to provide timely and unbiased analysis of the 2008 U.S. Presidential race. In 2004, Crawdad operated a US Presidential Dashboard based on text analysis of campaign communications from Bush and Kerry.  They invented the Mud Meterª that measured how much negative language one candidate used when talking about the otherÉ New York Times article

 

Crawdad People

Dr. Kevin Dooley is Chief Executive Officer of Crawdad. He is co-inventor of CRA, and he earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1987. Dooley is a Professor of Supply Chain Management at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Prof. Dooley's research interests lie in the areas of complex human systems. He has consulted with over 100 companies in the areas of quality, organizational change, and innovation, including Intel, Motorola, Raytheon, Honeywell, 3M, Citibank, and Ford.

 

Dr. Steven Corman is Chief Technology Officer of Crawdad. He is co-inventor of Centering Resonance Analysis (patent pending), a text analysis technology that underlies CrawdadÕs product offerings. Dr. Corman earned his Ph.D. in Communication Theory from the University of Illinois in 1988, and is a Professor in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. His research focuses on organizational networks, a perspective that figures prominently in the development of CRA. He is Vice-Chair of the Organizational Communication Division of the International Communication Association.
